Monahan should play for Team Canada, I would watch it.
Its a shame that Nurse is not invited, just because hes an Oilers draft pick.
I get it we suck...

Ya just a hairline fracture.....I don't think they expect him to be out too long.

Selfishly I want him to as well. But when you look at it as a whole it doesn't really make much sense.

Good to hear I love the kid, but did anyone really expect Calgary to send him to Canada with an injury?

I'd say he was probably 70-30 staying before the injury happened anyway....but you're right, his injury probably didn't help his chances. I'm sure they want to monitor him with their own staff.

Likely a lot to do with it, but I get the feeling he wasnt being sent with or without the injury as I think he will be back very soon. I suppose it would be a shame to send him to the WJC without enough time to rehab and consequently ends up playing poorly. Wouldnt look or feel good for him.

Any of you guys hear the Jon Gillies interview on the Fan this AM? I can't wait for this dude to get here. Gillies was also pumping the tires of Gilmour and Arnold.

Our future is starting to get so bright I might have to wear shades...

and jesus if we some how can get McDavid I will be blind!

In the grand scheme of things, Poirier being excluded was not TOO bad. There will only be a few cuts this year with the reduced invites. As long as Shinkaruk is cut, I'll see it as no slight. Poirier should have had an invite but I don't think he should be on the final squad. If Hunter makes it...

Yeah I just took a quick look at his stats and he is logging heavy minutes, I never knew that. Amazing how he can step into those minutes as a 19 year old and is doing a pretty good job of it from what I've seen.

Some interesting insight regarding Hartley's handling of Baer... translated from a Swiss newspaper, based on a recent interview.

Don't be so sure about that Whip!

You think Edmonton, NYI, Columbus, Toronto, Florida, Buffalo etc all wanted to take as long as they have?

Could happen to you guys too...
